Finally… the snow levels are down and we were able to get into the backcountry for the first time this year. And man did I need it! Nothing better to get the batteries recharged from the were and tear of the daily grind. The deer and elk are moving into their summer ranges, and the antler growth is looking good. Gets me fired up for the upcoming archery seasons that are less than two months away. Also had a brief encounter with a GOOD black bear, wich made me greatfull for all those bear points that have been building. We will head back up in two weeks and should have a good idea of whats in the area… we’ll keep you posted. Good luck with your scouting!

Idaho Bear Hunt

Well thats going to be the end of the bear hunt for me in Idaho this year. Although I can not say I put my tag on a bear I can say it was still an absolute success. I learned a little more about bears and I was able to share the Idaho backcountry with a couple of old friends and one new friend that are beasts in this STEEP rugged terrain.
I also think we went in a touch early even though it was a light winter and we expected the bears to be moving earlier than they actually were. I am truly starting to believe that regardless of snow levels and winter conditions these bears are SOLID on their internal clocks. And to be totally honest I think the missing snow and very light winter made this years hunt tougher than normal, not a little easier like you would have thought. Just my opinion.

And not having spent alot of time in this country I have to say, Idaho has some of the most rugged and beautiful backcountry I have ever seen. This was a week long trip and there was never a moment that from any direction you looked it wasn’t  a spectacular view.
I want to give Zach Owens a big thanks for the invite and for showing us some amazing country. Your a beast man and I had one hell of a time. Looking forward to next year. Only a little bit latter…..

Full Draw Film Tour

I know some think this has been beat to death, but we are very proud to have one of our films in the tour and win an award. First we kind of bucked the system by throwing in a youth hunt among some bigger names and great films, and were shocked to here it had made it to the top ten.

Second, to hear the feed back and it be so positive was amazing!
We honestly were on the fence about submitting this film but after talking to the rest of the team we thought that if all this film did was reach one person who understood what the message was it would be worth it. We take every hunt we do very serious and put our heart and souls into it but if we dont take the time to do the same for our kids and other youth hunters what kind of message are we sending? They are the future of what we are all so passionate about. And many of these youth hunters look up to us just like they do professional athletes. Take the time to show them that we care and help them achieve goals that they see us put so much effort into. It can be a life changing experience and very powerful message. This was hands down the most emotional and memorable hunt that I have ever been apart of and something I will and can share with my daughter for the rest of my life.
Thank you for all the positive feed back and inspiring comments from all of you that watched it. We are very humbled. And a big thank you to the team we have put together over the last few years, its going to be an amazing ride and a lot more great films to come. Thanks Gary Wilson for all the hard work you put into the tour. Amazing buddy!
